“Crowned by the Sun” – Best of Show at Crystal Springs Tomato Festival

In June, my painting Crowned by the Sun was awarded Best of Show at the CAFI Art Show during the Crystal Springs Tomato Festival.

This was my first time at both the festival and the art show. I was blown away by the number of craft and food booths along the streets and the charm of the square that hosted a pretty cool car show!

It was also a special day for me because my daughter, Naomi, who is a little artist in her own right, joined me. We enjoyed looking at all the other entries together and she even bought her first artwork from another young girl!

“Evening Mountain Valley” – People’s Choice Award at St. Jude’s Dream Home Giveaway

In July, my painting Evening Mountain Valley received the People’s Choice Award during the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway art exhibition.

The event showcased artwork from myself and fellow members of the Mississippi Artist Guild through a donated home staged with furniture from Ross Furniture, with visitors voting for their favorite pieces. Knowing that this recognition came directly from those who attended makes it incredibly special — and being part of an event that supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital made it all the more meaningful.
